Family Pension
Family Pension is granted to the family members of a deceased Government servant or pensioner as per the provisions of the Odisha Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1992.
Eligibility for Family Pension
Family pension is admissible to:
- The spouse (widow/widower) of the deceased Government servant or pensioner
- In the absence of a spouse, to the minor children, unmarried daughters, or disabled children
- In the absence of the above, to the dependent parents
Rate of Family Pension
The rate of family pension is generally 30% of the last pay drawn, subject to minimum and maximum limits as prescribed by the Government from time to time.
Duration of Family Pension
- Family pension to the spouse is payable for life or until remarriage
- Family pension to children is payable until they attain the age of 25 years or until marriage, whichever is earlier
- Family pension to disabled children is payable for life
- Family pension to dependent parents is payable for life
Application Process
Application for family pension should be submitted through the concerned Pension Sanctioning Authority (PSA) along with:
- Death certificate of the deceased Government servant/pensioner
- Service Book or Pension Payment Order
- Nomination form (if available)
- Proof of relationship with the deceased
- Other relevant documents as required
