A:-The office was established in 1991 (vide FD Resolution No. 45220/F dated 06.12.91) and became a separate Head of Department in 1994. It is primarily responsible for: • Maintenance of GPF accounts • Authorization of final GPF withdrawal for retired/deceased employees • Authorization of pensionary benefits for employees of Aided Educational Institutions • Administration of pension funds for Sambalpur and Berhampur Universities

A:-From 2016 - 17 onwards, rates are declared quarterly by the Government of India and adopted by the State Government. Recent years show a rate of 7.1% per quarter (from 2020 - 21 to 2024 - 25).
A:-Interest is allowed: • Till the month preceding the date of signing of authority by the Controller of Accounts office, if signed before the 15th • Till the end of the month, if signed on or after the 15th
